When do I check I books from the Media Center?
All grade levels will come with their class to the media center for book checkout.
How many books can I check out?
Kindergarten and first grade students may check out one (1) book.
Second grade through fifth grade students may check out two (2) books.
Graphic novels are available for check out, but students may only check out one.
When are the books due back to the Media Center?
Books are checked out for two weeks at a time. Students may return a book before that time if they finish reading it. Students may also renew or check the book out again if they have not finished.
What happens if I lose or damage a book?
Students with an overdue book will not be allowed to check out books.
If a student has an overdue book for more than 30 days, the book is automatically marked as “lost” and the parents will be sent an email, a yellow notice in their child's Friday Folder, or a notice in the mail requesting their assistance in locating the book.
Gwinnett County School Board policy states that student records may be withheld at the end of the year until a student returns library materials or pays for their replacement.
Students who lose or damage a book beyond usefulness are charged a fee of $15. Payments via My Payments Plus or exact cash.
